Many thanks
to Ian Porter for those words on behalf of development partners. Let me
say that I share many of the views that you have expressed – indeed,
they echo many of my earlier comments – and I look forward to future
GDCC meetings where we can continue this dialogue in a spirit of
partnership.

Gentlemen

It is now
time for me to close this meeting. Before I do, please allow me to say
that it has been a sincere privilege to chair this first meeting of the
Cambodia Development Cooperation Forum and to facilitate our discussions
over the last two days. I believe we have made significant progress and
I thank each and every one of you for playing your part that has made
this meeting so worthwhile. At this stage, I would particularly like to
thank my colleague Chhieng Yanara and his team at the Cambodian
Rehabilitation and Development Board, as well as the interpreters, who
have worked so hard behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of
this meeting.

Finally,
ladies and gentlemen, I have two short administrative announcements:

First, I
would like to propose that, subject to further dialogue within
Government and with our development partners, we provisionally set the
date for our next CDCF meeting as December 2008.

Second, after
taking a short break, a Press Conference for the CDCF chair will be
organized.
