B. Progress on Joint Monitoring Indicators

There were a
total of 347 casualties during 2007, which is a reduction of 103 (or
22.8%) from 2006. Additionally, 366.4 sq km have been marked as
reclaimed by MAG and HALO with 33.7 sq km cleared by the three
operators. This represents a reduction of 400.1 sq km from the L1S,
or a decrease of 9% of contaminated land. |

Programme-based approach for Mine Action. Geneva International Centre
for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) approached to provide technical
assistance. |

within the sector about the most appropriate way to move forward with
it. GDCC may consider the establishment of permanent capacity to
assist TWG’s/sector in developing a PBA/SWAP through in-house
expertise. |
